The Houston Astros have clinched their first ever World Series win, and Twitter was all over it, as usual.
One of the most exciting World Series to date is finally over. The Houston Astros have defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to become World Series champions for the first time in franchise history.
The game started off with a bang after the Astros scored five runs in just the first two innings. Of course, Dodgers fans on Twitter had an absolute meltdown
But then the Dodgers brought in three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and hope was restored.
But despite the excellent pitching by Kershaw, the Dodgers were unable to add even a single run to the scoreboard … and Dodgers fans sunk back into the World Series depression they felt in Games 2 and 5.

As the sixth inning drew to a close, the Dodgers were still not on the board, and a World Series victory for the Dodgers appeared to be impossible.
But then Andre Ethier stepped up to the plate and suddenly the Dodgers had life again.
But the rally the Dodgers so desperately needed derailed with only one run batted in before heading to the top of the seventh with Kershaw out and Kenley Jansen in.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the Dodgers’ year and the game ended 5-1 making it a historic series on all accounts.
